How music relates to and enhances other areas of learning and life.

Music has always been an important part of my life. My lovely clever mum cross-stitched this beautiful piece for me back in my college years and now it proudly hangs on the wall next to my piano. The words on it have continued to help shape my teaching philosophy to this day.

Just like a diamond I believe that music is multifaceted. I am very passionate about discussing and exploring the many ways that music is related to and enhances other areas of learning and life. Music relates to the core subjects of Mathematics, English and Science, it is related to the Foundation subjects, including the humanities and religious studies, it is entwined with the other Arts subjects of dance, art and drama and can greatly benefit our physical, mental and emotional health.
